How do I sign up for the APP?

The sign up process for the Antiviral Protection Plan is very simple, just click on the ‘
Order’ tab above and fill out a few details,  we will make sure you are fully covered for the coming year. Once you have completed your order, you will receive your plan documentation in the post within a few days.

How do I renew the Plan again next year?

We will make contact with you in plenty of time for you to renew your Antiviral Protection Plan each year.

How much does it cost to upgrade to full plan membership?

The cost of an upgrade to full membership is £20 per person plus VAT to include online medical screening, a private prescription and one full course of medication.

Which antiviral medication will I recieve when I upgrade to full membership?

Each Antiviral Protection Plan purchased will provide access to one full course of antiviral medication (10 x 75mg capsules) when you upgrade to full membership. Healthcare Connections' supply the same medication as stockpiled by the UK Government and governments around the world, the antiviral drug  called 'Tamiflu'.

What does the phrase 'Influenza like illness' mean?

Influenza like illness describes the symptoms you experience when you have an influenza virus. You will experience a high temperature (more than 37.5C) you will be feverish with sweats and chills. You will also have at least one of the following respiratory symptoms, cough, sore throat, runny nose, congestion or sinus pain. You will also have at least one of the following, headache, malaise, myalgia (muscle aches or backache) or fatigue. Please note that nausea and/or vomiting may also be present. Influenza often causes extreme weakness and fatigue, in contrast to a simple cold.

What does 'post exposure' prevention mean?

If you have been exposed to a person who has pandemic influenza you are at risk of contracting the virus. Antiviral medication can be used to help protect you however it must be taken within 48 hours of being exposed to the virus to be effective.

When should I upgrade to full plan membership?

You should consider upgrading your membership when the WHO declares an increase in the pandemic alert, or when you feel you wish to purchase your own private supply of medication to keep safely at home.
