How the plan works

Our Antiviral Protection Plan (APP) operates similar to an insurance policy on a simple annual opt in/out basis and members will be covered for as long as your organisation is signed up to the scheme. Healthcare Connections automatically reminds you in advance when your yearly renewal for employees or members is due.

Subscribing to this plan also means that you have automatic access to the pandemic occupational health services of Healthcare Connections in the event of another influenza pandemic. Pre-booking your medical plans is something that we see as an essential measure for organisations; in the event of a pandemic we know that health resources can become overstretched and unavailable.

When you need to call down your reserved stock, Healthcare Connections offers you access to its full occupational health scheme*. This scheme can be delivered via secure online registration with direct delivery service* or via nurses-led clinic* in the event of a pandemic.

Scheme Benefits include:

  • A quick and cost effective solution, just £9.99 per person per year, per treatment course
  • Guaranteed access to upgrade and use the full Healthcare Connections occupational health service, at a time when other health services may be exhausted
  • Secure pharmaceutical storage of your medication
  • There is no minimum order requirement, order protection for as many or few employees as you like
  • Simple opt in/out every year without penalty
  • Minimal admin task required by you

Healthcare Connections also offers additional flexible pandemic solutions bespoke to your needs, contact us if you would like to find out more about these.

When should medication be distributed?

Medication should be distributed in line with your organisation's pandemic flu continuity plans.  This will usually be when a pandemic flu outbreak has been declared or is escalating.  At this stage upgrade your Antiviral Protection Plan to our full occupational health scheme.  This additional upgrade fee is only due when your organisation requires access to antiviral medication.

The all inclusive cost of this occupational health service upgrade is only £20 per person to include one treatment course of antiviral medication.
